New and trying to understand things.

So I played the original Last Stand. Back when it was still a browser game. Nostalgia got me looking the game back up yesterday, and I found that the game is being rebuilt, apparently. So I've been playing and loving the game Once again, after 14 years. Apparently SWITCH COMPAGNIE Licensed the Last Stand: Dead Zone from Conartist Games. But can anybody explain to me why, on the Switch platform, it's a completely different developer? Evidently it's Ruby Realms Studio instead of SWITCH COMPAGNIE. Why?? It's 90% genuine curiosity and about 10% paranoia.
